It rained Runs on Friday:

On the 4th day of CCL 2009, it was a flood of runs that filled the ground on 6th November in the match between Cybersurf India and HBians. This is by far the highest total in CCL and highest margin win where HBians defeated Cybersurf India with 143 runs.

HBians made a gigantic total of 198/6 in their allotted 16 overs. There was an amazing opening stand of 103 runs between Pallav Patel and Rajesh Bej who made 44 off 28 and 59 off 25 respectively. None of the bowlers were spared by the couple who made a flurry of 4s and 6s from the moment they came on to bat. Cybersurf India look out of sorts, with no answers as their bowlers were swept off their feet with the power full hitting that went on till the 9th over.

This was backed up by some good middle order hitting Jignesh Patil and Nirav Patel who made 27 and 21 respectively taking the total to 198. In their innings a total of 14 fours and 9 sixes were hit by the HBians.

Requiring to score at a run rate of almost 13 runs per over, Cybersurf India never looked at ease and with ever increasing pressure to score, they totally succumbed to it. None of the batsmen could keep going, there were no partnerships and the highest individual score was 13 by Brijesh Dave.

Rajesh Bej was given the man of the match for his brilliant innings of 59 off just 25 balls hitting six 4s and two 6s.
In the second match of the evening, between Adani Group and Amap Warriors, Adani Group won by 65 runs.
Adani Group won the match and elected to bat first. Although, they didn’t have a very good start, but it was backed up with some good hitting by Sandeep, 33 off 31 and Samip Bhavsar, 36 off 24. This partnership took the team to a considerable total of 116 runs.

In the second innings of the match, Amap Warriors were dismissed at a meager total of 51 runs. Adani bowlers stuck to a tight line and length and gave the batsmen absolutely no chance to score.

Chasing a big total, with surmounting run rate and pressure of achieving the target was too much for Amap Warriors and they crumbled with Adani winning by 65 runs. Vatsal Dave was given the man of the match award.
